Creamy Butter Garlic Mushrooms

If you are a mushroom lover, this recipe is for you. In fact, I have made this recipe for friends who detest even the idea of eating the vegetable, and have loved this version! This creamy butter garlic mushrooms recipe is just perfect. And ridiculously easy to pull off!

The best thing that I like about this recipe (apart from the amazing flavor profile of course) is how every bite into the mushroom is so juicy and creamy. The gravy of the dish which is basically a butter garlic cream sauce manages to penetrate into every inch of the button mushroom, creating a splash of flavor with each bite. This is possible because I add the whole mushroom instead of cutting it into half. It makes a big difference!

Creamy Butter Garlic Mushrooms Recipe

This vegetarian recipe is more like a thick sauce that you can pour over your pasta, devour with bread or hog it up just like that.  The number of ingredients is quite minimal and the title literally gives it all away! This recipe uses a lot of fried onions, which gives it a sweetness and helps add a whole lot of flavor into the gravy. Garlic is the main ingredient, which we add after the mushrooms.

The creaminess comes from the cream, of course, but also from the addition of all-purpose flour into the gravy. I also add vegetable stock to this, or even hot water works fine if you are out of stock. The herbs, in the end, are really up to you to put, even fresh basil works wonders. In this recipe, I have added dry thyme and basil, and some fresh coriander.

How to make creamy butter garlic mushrooms

This vegetarian recipe is extremely easy to make and comes together in 30 minutes. The mushrooms are cooked in a thick and luxurious creamy gravy, that has butter, onions, garlic, and cream. For seasoning, I have kept it very simple and used only salt, black pepper powder and some paprika for heat and color.
